Job Overview

I worked at Rushing starting in June 2020 until April 2021 as a Plumbing Project Engineer Intern. Starting off full time, I reduced my hours to a part time roll in the fall of 2020 to fully accommodate my schools schedule. I worked on more than 20 projects (see collage) on all different construction phases. The job definitely taught me that obtaining a degree is just the start of a long road to become a knowledgeable engineer and I relish the opportunity to have learned about ever more complicated systems, techniques, and standards to become a successful, multifaceted engineer. Frequently working under a senior or principle engineer, I was assigned both design and documentation duties with daily and weekly deadlines. Tasks include schematic design, detailed pipe modeling, coordination, equipment scheduling, site visits, risers, and calculations. I constantly tried to improve my engineering ability having learned AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Bluebeam design tools. Working completely remotely, I relied heavily on Microsoft Teams, Deltek, and Asana for communication and scheduling
